This Week We Tried A Real Estate Marketing SEO Test On The Glide GBS Website With Amazing Results.
This test crashed the server initially; which by the way didn’t have any adverse effect any client websites as client sites are hosted on their own servers. What happened was we added 36,000 pages which caused an out-of-memory issue for WordPress. Once we upped the memory on the server to 6 GB and optimized the database this seems to have corrected the issue and everything is running smoothly again.
So, why did we add 36,000 pages to our website? It was done for the purpose of a large-scale real estate SEO strategy test.
Local Pages For Real Estate SEO
At Glide GBS we build localized pages on our clients’ websites. These are designed to generate local search engine traffic. These community pages speak to the local market and lifestyle. This proves our agent client as being in-the-know about happenings in their local market and gives a true representation to the reader of what life is like in the various local communities.
We decided to run a real estate SEO test using local pages on a much larger scale: Nationwide (USA).
The search phrases that we used for the purpose of our real estate SEO test are:
- Real Estate Website Design – [City Name], [State]
- Real Estate Web Design – [City Name], [State]
- [City Name] Real Estate Website Design
- Real Estate Marketing Agency – [City Name], [State]
Created individualized landing pages for each city one:
These pages are automatically added to our website’s sitemap which is checked by Google Daily. A sitemap is an index of all of the pages on a website which are accessible by the menus on your website, but it also contains pages on the website that might not be in your menu that you want Google to index as well. Obviously, we weren’t going to add 30k+ pages to our menu because that doesn’t help anyone. Heres further information on from Wikipedia on What is A Sitemap.
We can see that Google read our sitemap here in the Google Search Console:
Google Indexed The New Glide GBS Website Pages
After a couple of days, Google’s spiders picked up our website pages and started to show our website in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). After which, we started to show up in searches for our targeted key phrases, as follows:
The Glide GBS real estate marketing website was listed in every medium-plus sized city in the United States. Google ranked the site in 2 days. Immediately we saw a 4x increase in the number of leads that we get on a total of only 10% of the submitted URLs having being indexed yet. Indexing can take 30-60 days to complete so we are monitoring the results every day.
Without a localized SEO strategy, you are missing out on traffic to your real estate website. Check out how we do it by visiting our Custom Real Estate Website Design page.
